Cape May Weddings - Destination

The Southern Manson and Cape May are the Perfect Destination Wedding location:

Events Encompassing Two, Three or More Days

The Southern Mansion has something unique to
offer in each of season of the year:

Holidays   Winter   Spring   Summer   Autumn

Destination Events Encompassing Two, Three or Even More Days

Guests arrive to a loaded hospitality table and bar and get to know each over cocktails and nibbles.  Everyone checks into their beautiful rooms greeted by special welcome baskets filled with items to make their stay more comfortable, reminding them of the bride and groom while giving them memories of their stay in Cape May to take with them.

The rehearsal dinner will get everyone ready for the big event but is also a time for reminiscing over the past. Slide shows, light music, picture albums and prearranged games are great way to acquaint both sets of families with the couple's lives from childhood to this special day. We’ve even arranged treasure hunts throughout the island allowing everyone become familiar with Cape May history, customs, and hidden charms, creating wonderful memories along the way.  Consider a BBQ or outside event to create a relaxing and casual feeling.

Time draws near for the big event...the Ceremony is gorgeous and special, full of meaning and emotions.  The wedding reception goes even more smoothly as the guests and families had time to get to know each and become friends. The frivolity, dancing and festivities top off the evening and the perfect day commences...cutting the cake, singing, dancing and enjoying a perfect end as the couple celebrates their new beginning.

The next morning all the guests and combined families meet to enjoy a delicious brunch before heading off.  The days events are discussed and relished.  The families take this last wonderful time together to cement their new relationships congratulating the married couple on their excellent and forever memorable event where the guests were treated so kindly with all their needs anticipated.

Holiday Weddings: New Years eve, Thanksgiving, Chanukah and Christmas Weddings

Holidays are a perfect time for events and the bringing together of two families to form a new one. The Mansion is decorated with tens of thousands of decorations from mid November through January. Take advantage of the festive ambience for gorgeous photo opportunities...burning fireplaces casting a golden warmth on the revelers; glowing candles and tiny lights warming the winter night/brightening the dark sky; winter white velvet wedding dresses embroidered with pearls, brides maids in deep reds, burgundies, wine colors, deep royal purples, black velvet, gold and silver.

Winter Weddings

December 21 is the Winter Solstice, a special powerful time of the year in all ancient religions, myths, and histories. It is the shortest day of the year and considered the most magical.  December is a popular time for family and friends to gather from all over the country, why not celebrate your wedding when your loved ones are already planning on being in town.

Spring Weddings

Spring is the time of awakening...growth, fertility and new beginnings. Beautiful ceremonies taking advantage of the emerging Spring bulbs of daffodils, tulips, hyacinth iris, and peonies. Pinks, lavenders, verdant hues and chartreuse compliment long white dresses and trains billowing out behind the bride as she descends a flying staircase to the nuptials below.

Summer Weddings

Summer weddings run the gambit from casual and fun to high pomp and circumstance. Outside events such as a wonderful  Barbeque are always fun. Take advantage of the outside vistas and gardens for cocktails and butlered hors d’oeuvres.  Capture your special day with pictures on the beach.

Autumn Weddings:

With crisp clear weather and sunny days with no humidity, autumn is thought by many to have the best weather of the entire year.  Harvest and color abound with foliage in red, orange, yellow, sienna, burnt umber and burgundy. Halloween weddings are always fun. The Mansion has hosted events where all the guests are in costume and fall weddings with burnt orange and burnt pink roses mixed with overblown dahlias fall leaves, even bountiful fall harvests of apples nestled in piles or filling the bottom of glass vases.
